What Winston can do
Twelve kinds of work. Open one for what it does, a prompt to try, and the one thing to know before you run it.
Process invoices from PDF to POS
Send Winston an invoice PDF (Chat π, or Slack) and it reads every line, matches items to your catalog, and preps the result for your POS. From the Invoice Processing starter prompt, a Work Audit always waits for your approval before anything is written. A free-form Chat or Slack request to a write-enabled POS follows that connection's permissions, so ask Winston to gate it through Work Audits first.
- "Here is the Kiva invoice from this morning, process it."
On a read-only POS connection, which is how Treez worked when this guide was checked, Winston prepares the invoice but cannot submit it. Check Connect your tools for what yours allows.
Inventory, reorder reports, and substitutes
Vendor-ranked reorder lists from live inventory and sales velocity, with days of supply, plus substitute suggestions for out-of-stocks and aging or expiring stock flags.
- "Build a reorder report grouped by vendor for all stores."
Numbers use completed store-local days, so today is excluded.
Sales and performance reports
Daily pulses, top sellers and momentum, discount and promo ROI, new vs returning revenue, returns quality, day-part traffic for staffing.
- "Top 10 products by revenue for the last 30 days, grouped by category, flag falling momentum."
Name the store and window or Winston picks defaults and tells you which.
Budtender performance and store controls
Ranked scorecards by sales and average basket, SPIF leaderboards with payouts calculated, drawer variance audits, and employee-attributed anomalies in neutral language.
- "Rank budtenders by average basket this month and flag anyone below store average."
Keep loss-prevention and employee prompts to managers; put that in your SOP.
Customers, win-backs, and AlpineIQ campaigns
Resolves messy POS customer records to real people before counting, sizes win-back segments, measures loyalty ROI, and reports AlpineIQ campaign performance.
- "Size a win-back segment for customers lapsed 60 days or more."
Some Customer & Loyalty prompts stay padlocked until AlpineIQ or Klaviyo is connected.
Metrc and compliance
Package and transfer lookups, manifest pulls, and a variance report that ranks Metrc-vs-POS gaps by dollars at risk, per license.
- "Run the compliance variance report and rank by dollars at risk."
Winston can do in Metrc whatever your Metrc user key allows; supply a read-only user's key to keep it read-only.
Vendor credit reports
When brands owe you for promotions, Winston builds the reimbursement paperwork: one Excel report ready to email, or a whole batch with an index, one report per brand.
- "Run a vendor credit report for the July Fourth sale, all stores, 50 percent reimbursement."
Give it the discount name, dates, store, and percentage; vague asks come back as questions.
Catalog cleanup
Drafts better product descriptions, finds images from trusted sources, resolves messy brand names, learns your naming rules, and surfaces zero-result menu searches.
- "Enrich these 20 products with descriptions and images."
Changes apply only where your POS connection allows writes; on Treez they stop at the review.
Shareable pages and dashboards
Turns any piece of work into a published web page, with page analytics when you ask how it performed. Published pages include an access code. Share the link and code only with intended recipients.
- "Turn this into a web page I can share with the brand."
Publishing waits in Work Audits for an Approve; ask Winston to unpublish and it will.
Marketing videos
Real rendered video files: product promos, social clips, captioned content, and site tours, with voiceover, synced captions, and music-reactive animation.
- "Make a promo video from my site."
Review the result before using it anywhere; finished videos live in the Library.
Competitive analysis
Reads nearby dispensary menus and compares pricing, product mix, and positioning against yours. Runs on public information, so it works the moment you sign up.
- "Compare my flower pricing to dispensaries within 10 miles."
The first report on a brand-new workspace can take up to 30 minutes; later updates are much faster.
SEO audits
Checks how your site ranks and returns prioritized fixes to climb search results, ranked by effort and impact. Also runs on public information only.
- "Run an SEO audit on our site and give me the top 5 fixes."
There is no one-click starter for this one; ask in Chat in your own words.
These jobs can be requested in Chat and, where supported, turned into a spreadsheet, shareable page, or scheduled run. Matching starter prompts are available in the Prompt library where offered.
